Presentation: The Flowering Plants of South Africa’s Winter
This presentation is a look at the flowering plants that grow in the Winter Rain regions of South Africa, stretching from the Cape to the border with Namibia. Some of the most spectacular flowers in nature come from this region. We will look at a sampling of the wonderful flora from this region, looking at several genera, some common and some rare. A bit on cultivation and propagation and where these plants can be seen and purchased will conclude the talk.
Who is Tom Glavich?
Tom Glavich is a long time grower of Succulent Plants and Bulbs. He is a member of the CSSA, San Gabriel Cactus and Succulent Society, the Pacific Bulb Society and the North American Rock Garden Society and a few others. He grows most of the plants shown in this presentation from seed..
