Last month’s meeting brought back yet more familiar faces that we haven’t seen for the past two years. Indeed, it is so wonderful to be able to get together and see each other again. I also want to welcome all of the new members joining the club since the beginning of this year. Please take to the time to get acquainted with each other with a simple gesture of saying, “Hi or hello”. As we continue to take the next step towards more consistent monthly meeting, we hope to eventually bring back other activities and elements that are part of our “routine” general meeting. We are getting there day by day.
I can’t think of a better reason to attend this month’s meeting than to see some good ‘ole friends again. Honest, no stretch of the imagination! I’m talking about welcoming back our very own Buck and Yvonne Hemenway from South Africa. While they are vacationing back in the states visiting family and friends, they will take a detour to Redlands. Buck will be our guest speaker for April and he will give a unique presentation delayed and rein checked from last year. Because this talk at our club will be one of only two planned presentation from Buck during their stay, you definitely will not want to miss this meeting. Think of this as a homecoming event for Gates CSS.
Our other big event coming up real soon in early May will be the annual plant sale. We still need more volunteer help and would graciously accept your consideration. More information will be shared at the meeting. In the meantime, since spring time has officially arrived, there are many garden events happening somewhere around here. If you know of any, please be sure to share it with us. Two garden/home tours are scheduled during this month, one in Rancho Cucamonga and one in Redlands. Their information is available on the club’s website and newsletter.
Remember to join us at the meeting and enjoy a reunion with the Hemenways.
