Greetings Gates!
I know I am certainly not alone by saying that it will be great to return to our monthly meeting! It was not an easy decision for the Board and I to cancel last month, but we felt it was the safest decision for our members. A big thank you to Kim and Barry Urman for arriving at the hall to let any members (who did arrive) know that we canceled for the evening. We will be rescheduling Michiel Pillet to speak at a later date.
We have many exciting things to announce at our March meeting!
Make sure to bring some cash (or your checkbook)… not just for the fabulous plants that our March speaker Woody Minnich will be bringing, but also for your 2024 membership renewal!
While the rain is great for our watersheds and reservoirs, hopefully no one has lost too many plants due to rot. My neighbors have already begun teasing me about “the rain is a coming, huh Jeff?!” when they see me pull out the plastic sheets to cover my potted balcony specimens. The struggle is real to keep a balance between a well hydrated cactus and an onslaught of days of rain bringing oversaturation and drowned roots.
