Dear CSSA Affiliate,

        After the Covid19 pandemic forced us to cancel our show & sale the past two years, I’m pleased to announce that this year’s 55th Annual Show and Sale will take place at the Huntington from July 1-3, 2022. The Show & Sale will be in the Botanical Center Complex. At this time the HBG is back to having both indoor & outdoor events. Masks are optional indoors & public vaccination status is not checked.

       The SALE will be Friday thru Sunday, July 1-3 from 10:00am-5:00pm. The SHOW will be Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3 from 10:00am-5:00pm. All members of the CSSA and its Affiliated Clubs are invited to participate in the Show. This is a one-class show. There will be NO sales on Thursday, June 30, during vendor setup. Early sales are reserved for show volunteers & vendors before 10:00am on Friday, July1. All other club members, CSSA members & the public must enter through the front entrance at 10:00am.

       If you wish to attend the Show Dinner, Dearmore BBQ with vegetarian options, the cost will be $25 for dinner. Please call or email Bonnie Ikemura (213-305-1421; bikemura@hotmail.com) to make your reservations no later than June 27.

       Starting this year, the Show Schedule & Index will be available online thru each club’s newsletter, website or the CSSA website to any club member who wishes to attend or participate. There will be more available at the Show. Entry tags will be available at some local clubs, at the show or mailed upon request.

       All volunteers, vendors & show entrants will need to wear their club badges and will be given a HBG wristband each day they are working, by the Show Chair. Free passes for this event will no longer be distributed in advance. Information re: comped entry for CSSA & CSS club members, not participating, will be forthcoming in May or June. Stay tuned! At this time, entry to the HBG is by advanced online timed tickets for both members & the public on Weekends, no walk-ins & strongly recommended for the Friday sale date.

      Volunteers are needed to help with Show set-up on Thursday morning and all day during the event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Show set-up will start on Thursday morning June 30, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Show plants can be entered from 1:00-6:00pm Thursday, June 30 & 9:00am-4:00pm on Friday, July1. Tear down is at 5:00pm Sunday, July3.

       We need items for the Rare Plant Auction on Sat. night July2. Items can be entered as a 70/30 split or full donation. There is a 2-item limit per person or business to the auction. 35 items will be chosen for the Live Auction and the remaining items, with the donor’s permission, will go into the Silent Auction held during dinner. All Auction items must be submitted by 2pm Saturday, July 2. Please emphasize that all proceeds go to the CSSA Research Fund & the CSSA awards grants each year. Thank you for sharing this information with your club President & members. If you are no longer the Club Affiliate, please pass this packet onto your Club President or the new Affiliate for distribution.

As promised, I finally the have information for our CSS Club Members who want to attend this year’s Annual CSSA Show & Sale at the Huntington, July 1-3. We have been approved to have a limited number of comped tickets for each day as follows: Friday July 1, 200 tickets; Saturday July 2, 150 tickets; and Sunday July 3, 150 tickets. This is on a first come, first serve basis. Please emphasize that this is for CSS club Members ONLY, not friends & extended family members. If a club member is also a Huntington Member, please reserve your tickets thru the HBG website. Otherwise, please follow these steps:

2. Choose the date, July 1, 2 or 3

3. Enter your name

4. Go to Check out (the fee will say free)

5. Confirm

6. Print out confirmation or show phone confirmation at MAIN entrance ticket counter.

7. You will receive a wristband & can then proceed to the Show & Sale

8. The parking lots fill up so try to come early
